On the occasion of the International Women's Rights Day, Alpitour World, in collaboration with Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro, promoted a series of initiatives to spread the values of equity, diversity and inclusion, inside and outside the world of sport.
During the match on 9 March, in the 32nd day of Serie A2, the players of Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro took the court with their mothers' surnames on their uniforms. A symbolic gesture inspired by an initiative of the Serie A Football League and the Constitutional Court ruling of 2022, which recognises the right to transmit both surnames to children.
The special jerseys are available for purchase online at https://www.victorialibertas.it/, and the proceeds will be donated to Percorso Donna for the “Futura” project, supporting women who are victims of violence.
The initiative is part of the ‘Alpitour. Equal, not less', which represents the Group's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, values also recognised by the Gender Equality Certification obtained by Alpitour SpA. A principle also shared by Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro, of which Eden Viaggi, an Alpitour World brand, has been a sponsor for over ten years.
Confirming this commitment, Alpitour supports Olimpia Pesaro, the only women's basketball team in the province. During the match on 9 March, the athletes shared the court with the players of Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro, wearing a jersey with the words ‘Equal Not Less’, a symbol of a shared cultural change.
