Alpitour World continues its international growth path with the inauguration of a new project in Zanzibar, one of the most exclusive destinations in the Indian Ocean.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony of the future resort in Nungwi was attended by Alpitour World Chairman Gabriele Burgio, the President of Zanzibar, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, and representatives of the local government.

The new resort will be located on the renowned Nungwi beach and will be designed with sustainability and environmental friendliness in mind. With an innovative design that enhances the natural surroundings and local resources, the property will offer 120 rooms and an exclusive resort experience from October 2025.

Alpitour World's presence in Zanzibar dates back almost thirty years and has been consolidated over time with investments aimed at developing tourism on the island. Currently, the Group markets 24 resorts and guarantees direct connections thanks to Neos flights from the main Italian airports.

The year 2024 saw a record number of admissions, with almost 40 thousand travellers welcomed in the winter season alone.

This new opening represents a further step in Alpitour World's strategy, which continues to invest in innovation and sustainable growth. The Nungwi project is part of a development path aimed at consolidating the Group's presence in international markets, strengthening its role as a reference point in the hospitality sector.
