The development path of Neos continues, as it is ready to introduce a new route, further diversifying and increasing its scheduled activities: in fact, from June 2023 and for the entire summer season, the first direct flight of Neos will be active, connecting the Falcone e Borsellino airport of Palermo-Punta Raisi with the John Fitzgerald Kennedy airport in New York. The new route will operate two frequencies a week, departing from Italy every Sunday and Tuesday, thanks to a 355-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Neos is thus expanding its network towards North America, where it has been present since 2021 with three weekly flights on the New York - Milan Malpensa route and since last April with a Toronto - Milan Malpensa flight. The new intercontinental flight, the only one direct from Sicily to the United States and operated by an Italian carrier, represents an important opportunity for the largest island in the Mediterranean, in terms of both outgoing and incoming traffic, without forgetting the large number of compatriots residing right in the Big Apple.

With the aim of diversifying its business, the new flight will be used not only for passengers, but also for cargo transport, an important activity for Neos, which began during the years of the pandemic and which has led to its growth, not only in terms of volume and turnover, but above all in terms of product and services offered.

Neos continues, therefore, on its development path with the constant expansion of its flight plan and with the entry of four new B737-8 MAX planned for 2024, it will further lower the age of its fleet, already one of the youngest in Europe, bringing it to a total of 19 aircraft.
