A step in the verification process of certain areas of the environmental and social impact of the facilities marketed by Alpitour World is represented by the GVR protocol (Green Seagulls), specifically created for this purpose and defined based on the objectives set by the UN in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The conformity assessment to the protocol was conducted by a third-party entity accredited ISO 17065 by Accredia, which examined numerous requirements on-site.
The facilities that successfully passed the conformity assessment mostly belong to the Bravo and SeaClub collections by Francorosso.
THE GVR PROTOCOL
This is a protocol that we helped create in collaboration with a certification body recognized by Accredia, based on the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We felt the need for this protocol to analyze specific impact areas of our offerings. The goal is to encourage the commitment of the hotels and resorts we market primarily towards reducing environmental impact, improving social responsibility, and adopting better management practices.
The certificate of conformity is issued thanks to the checks carried out by a specialized team directly at the resorts and villages.
HOW IT WORKS
A team of professionals, selected by the Certification Body, visits the most important hotels and resorts for Alpitour World and verifies the application of numerous parameters organized into nine macro areas:
• Respect for human rights and working conditions
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Environmental impact
• Communication with customers
• Sustainable procurement
• Proper management practices
• Involvement and development of the local community
• Sustainable economic development
• Cybersecurity
WHERE ARE WE NOW
So far, the GVR protocol has been issued to over 60 resorts marketed by Alpitour World, mostly belonging to the Bravo and SeaClub collections of Francorosso.
The facilities that adhere to the protocol are located in Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt and the Red Sea, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Kenya, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
